Old Dominion placed first in the General Commodities Local division, second in the General Commodities Linehaul division, and third in the General Commodities Combined division in the Alabama Trucking Association Safety Contest. Lytx Annual Safety Awards 2023
Old Dominion’s Ralph Hamilton and Bill Nolan were recognized by our partners at Lytx for their contributions to highway safety with their annual safety awards. Hamilton, a safety drive camera coach for OD, was recognized as a coach of the year finalist coming in third place. Nolan, a linehaul driver from Boise, Idaho, finished second in the driver of the year award running.
2023 American Trucking Associations President’s Trophy Award
The President’s Trophy is the top safety award given to one motor carrier by the American Trucking Associations. OD was ranked at the top for the “Over 100 Million Miles” category for its outstanding safety record. Carriers are selected for the President’s Trophy by submitting independently verified safety and compliance data. The ATA then evaluates the carrier’s overall safety record, programs and community outreach, and commercial vehicle enforcement personnel.
2023 American Trucking Associations Excellence in Security Award
The Excellence in Security Award is given annually to the top carrier judged by commercial vehicle enforcement personnel. OD was recognized for its low cargo claims and security excellence.

The Top 100 Truckers are chosen by experts in the trucking industry using a variety of factors. The annual list spotlights companies that pave the way in transportation innovation from more than 200 companies in the trucking industry. Old Dominion was recognized for its premium service for the seventh consecutive year in 2021.

The 23rd annual Ryder Carrier Quality Awards recognizes U.S. and Canadian carriers for service quality and operational excellence based on various metrics, including on-time performance, value, customer service, technology applications, and innovation. Old Dominion was awarded the National Carrier of the Year in 2020, an award it also won in 2010.
